Charbay Lot: S 211A Hop Flavored Whiskey

Charbay Lot S 211A Hop Flavored Whiskey was inspired by Bear Republic’s Big Bear Stout — Marko Karakasevic took the complex Stout (which uses five different malts, adjuncts, and multiple hop varieties), double-distilled it, and aged the spirit 29 months in French oak. The result: dried apricot and honeysuckle on the nose, a rich palate of roasted coffee, chocolate malt, and orange zest, finishing on brown spice, dark malt, and lingering dry oak.

Founded in 1983 on Spring Mountain above St. Helena, California, Charbay Distillery & Winery is owned and managed by Master Distiller Miles Karakasevic and his family. The Karakasevics trace their distilling tradition back to 1751 in the former Yugoslavia, with Marko Karakasevic becoming the family’s 13th-generation Master Distiller in 2009. All Charbay spirits are produced in their Alambic Charentais pot still.
